The Problem With
Modern Activewear
Today's activewear industry is heavily reliant on polyester-based synthetics. It's cost-efficient, scalable, and derived from fossil-based plastic.
That comes with trade-offs that often go unnoticed: limited breathability under high intensity, heat retention during movement, and a material footprint that lasts for decades. Every wash can release thousands of microplastic fibres into water systems; entering oceans, ecosystems and the food chain.
For a category built around movement, performance and well-being, this never made sense to us.

Where it begins
At Palenq, we design from nature, not just for performance, but for balance with the systems that sustain us.
That's why we choose materials that combine high performance with renewable origins: lyocell fibers from FSC-certified wood sources, and cotton from GOTS-certified organic farms.
Each material decision is intentional. Focused on reducing unnecessary trade-offs while maintaining performance on the move.
Our goal is simple: to set a new standard for what activewear can be.

Every piece is designed to perform in motion. From early warm-ups to the most demanding training sessions, it follows your movement without resistance.
We build for comfort, durability, and function under real use. Stretch retention is tested over 50+ wash cycles to ensure the fabric holds its shape over time. Seams are strategically placed to reduce friction during running, lifting, and recovery.

Chapter 03
What it's made of
We use a two-fiber system built for performance and traceability. Each material is selected for what it does best and for how clearly we can trace its origin.
Organic Cotton
GOTS-certified, grown without synthetic pesticides. It adds structure, weight, and a natural feel that grounds the garment in comfort and durability.
Tencel™ Lyocell
Soft, breathable, and gentle on the skin. Made from responsibly sourced wood fibers in a closed-loop system that recovers 99.5% of solvent and water used in production.
Together, these materials make apparel that performs at the highest level, while leaving a noticeably smaller footprint.
